Sara y Sara is a feature-length documentary exploring the intergenerational impact of war, forced migration, and silence within a Salvadoran family. The film follows mother and daughter—Rossana Perez and Sara Aguilar—as they confront a shared history marked by exile, activism, and loss. At its heart, this is a film about a daughter reclaiming her place in a story that she didn’t know she was part of. It is a story about memory as resistance—about using film to interrupt cycles of silence and reconnect the personal to the political. If we don’t tell these stories, they will disappear. And with them, the truths we need to confront a future where we can be collectively free.
100% of the proceeds from the sale of this print will go towards supporting the completion of the documentary film Sara y Sara, directed by Sara Aguilar and Pete Galindo.
